Pouring rain and thundering winds marked the celebrations of the party. To be a little on the humorous side, I thought the weather gods were also having a laugh remembering all his American Dad seasons.

Macfarlane was seen wearing a white tuxedo coat and gave a warm welcome to all the press members. God! He was looking fantastic to say the least. He said “As long as there are Star Wars movies left, we’ll keep doing these episodes”. The fame of the Family Guy was apparent as one of the special guests; Kevin Michael Richardson said he will definitely take pleasure to be a part of Family Guy’s record of the George Lucas Empire.

There was definitely a sort of wild end to the night. After the weather had put all the arrangements in disorder, all the much celebrated stars went into the comforts of AC, it seemed like a quite fitting end after all the unfitting hustle and bustle that marked the start of the party. But, anyways, three cheers to Macfarlane for all the achievements he has made as a voice artist.

This half an hour episode of American Dad apart from the guest star also had a number of musical surprises. In its minute airing period it did wonders by featuring six songs of the band. These songs were “I’m amazed”, “Steam Engine” and “Remnants” along with three others.

This successful episode of American Dad seems to have bloomed out from a chance meeting between the creator of the show and the band members. Creator Mike Barker met the MMJ band last year during their famous 4-hour performance at Bonaroo. Tom Blankenship the bassist of the band recalls how they were all drawn together with love and respect for one anther.

Coming back to the episode, it also featured a mini parody within the extended one. This parody was of ‘Almost Famous’, featuring Roger as Abbey Road and Stan as a journalist for “the Rolling Stone magazine.” So the show as always managed to reach our hearts and earn praise. He avoids meeting his geek son in the presence of other CIA agents. I love his notion of hating obese people; it is a very odd pattern of thinking isn’t it. By the way who cares, after all it is only a cartoon character. His fear of strangers is clearly reflected by his aversive attitude towards his Iranian neighbors. What a great as well as odd character strongly depicted and penned down. I am sorry for my special interest in this character of American Dad. After all, I am a human and like everyone else, I can make choices and categorize characters in favorite and non-favorite categories. Now, before the end of the season, a piece of good news came along for one of the voice over actors of the show. It has been reported that singer and actor, Scott Grimes, who lends his voice to the character of Steve Smith on American Dad, has been offered to star in a period film based on the adventures of the legendary hero Robin Hood. The star, who was seen earlier in movies like Alaska and both the Critters movies, has been chosen for the movie along with Kevin Durand and Alan Doyle. According to reports, Grimes is to play the role of Robin’s nephew Will Scarlet, who is a skilled swordsman. The movie which was initially named Nottingham has been renamed as Robin Hood, and will feature Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett as Robin Hood and Maid Marian respectively. This is the first time that Scott will be working with Russell and reportedly, he is quite excited about the project.

We have all experienced, Scott’s powerful voice acting talent on American Dad. He has used his flexible voice quite efficiently to bring out the various emotions that Steve faces at a given moment. He is an atheist and a supporter of gay rights and gay marriage. During the WGA strike in 2007-2008, he publicly supported and fully participated in the strike.

He is also a frequent guest speaker on various college campuses. A little known fact about this creative genius is that, he narrowly escaped boarding the American Airlines Flight 11, from Boston to Massachusetts, which was later hijacked and flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, on September 11, 2001.

However, Seth does not think much of this close call with death, as he feels that there are many close calls in everyday life, and one can even narrowly escape being hit by an oncoming vehicle, while crossing the street. He feels that, such incidents should not affect him, as he is a comedy writer and needs to put all this behind him, to bring out his creative best. Also Seth is a supporter of the Democratic Party and has donated $10,000 for U.S. President Barack Obama’s election campaign, besides speaking in his favor at a rally during the 2008 elections.

An example of this is the talking goldfish Klaus or the alien Roger in American Dad. I know that we can create these characters in live series as well but I feel that the natural feel that they provide in an animated series, cannot be achieved in the live series.

I have always loved animations as I feel that they are the best way to relax and personally I reconnect with the happy memories of my childhood, whenever I watch an animated series. This helps in easing out all my tensions and worries and I feel actually stress free for some time. Hey friends! So now that American Dad is to remain on air till at least 2012, I am not worried about the renewal of the series. So I just went through my list of favorite characters in the series and today I am here to share with you as to whom I love most on the show. Well, since I love the show, I definitely like all the characters; however my most favorite character in the series is Roger. I really feel sorry for the alien rescued by Stan from Area 51 only to be imprisoned inside the Smith household (although he does not remain inside the house for long). His loneliness is another thing that endears him to me. He is really a good guy and is in need of some really good company. I think the writers need to think about this and maybe they should introduce a character to share his loneliness.

His fantasies are really bizarre and it’s not right for him to be fantasizing all the time. He has a wonderful art of disguising himself when he wants to go out of the house and though he is 1600 years old, he does not look that old. But then maybe being an alien, he comes from a place where people live for thousands of years. But anyways I simply adore Roger and sometimes I really feel like having him for myself. Come to think of it, it would be really fun to have an alien friend and that too friends like Roger. Also when he goes into disguise by cross-dressing, speaking effeminately etc. makes me roll on the floor with laughter.

However, there are some things that I really don’t like about Roger. These include his irritating habits of drinking, smoking and endlessly watching television. Although no one is quite sure about his sexuality, but still it would look better if he looked, acted and dressed more like a man. But anyways, even if he continues to be like that, I will always like him and love him. For me he has been and will always be the funniest and most adorable character on American Dad.
