And if you still don’t know, let me inform you that McFarlane is the man who created our favorite animated series on television namely American Dad. So anyone who says that cartoons are for children has been proven wrong, because if it had been true, then McFarlane would not have received the title of the smartest man on TV. The title was based on a pole conducted by the Entertainment Weekly magazine to select the 25 smartest people in television. McFarlane had earlier made a $100 million (£66.6 million) deal with U.S. network FOX according to which he has agreed to keep American Dad as well as Family Guy with the network till 2012. Now isn’t that fantastic news guys! This makes sure that we will be able to watch our favorite show American Dad for at least four more years to come.

American Dad has been both a highly acclaimed as well as criticized animated show since it started airing in February 2005. I can understand people being sentimental about Family Guy, which has been a very popular show for the last seven years. However, in my opinion it still not fair to compare the two shows. I have watched Family Guy for some time and have been watching American Dad from the first episode. I personally feel the two shows are unique in their own way. Since both the shows have been produced by the same people there is bound to be a little similarity in the two. Maybe people are also comparing the two more because both the shows are aired on the same channel on the same day and that too back to back. I think it would be better to reschedule the timing of one of the two shows, so that people get a break between the two shows. Only then they will they be able to appreciate the individuality of each show

Isn’t it great guys? Our favorite TV show will be back next year as well! The animated comedy series American Dad, which is currently running in its fourth season, has been one of my favorite shows. The show which is sarcastically comic premiered in February 2005. Although, initially many people did not like it, the show has improved with each new episode. Its audience base has widely increased across the four seasons and so it does not really surprise me that the series has been chosen for a fifth season. The uniqueness of each character adds a new twist to the story in every new episode, making it funnier and more enjoyable.

I guess we all like the basic idea of the show which is a take off on the entire conservative and typecast community of America. It is one of the reasons why each new episode feels refreshing. Although it seems to me that four out of every five people will be happy with the revival of the series for a fifth time, I can only sympathize with people who do not like the show. The couple’s teenage daughter Hayley Smith who attends community college has go through an inspection at home everyday after she returns from college. Her brother Steve is at the threshold of puberty and is quite noisy and ill at ease with the fact. In addition, the Smith family has two very unusual members. The first is Roger an alien rescued by Smith, who lives in the attic and drinks wine and smokes cigarettes as he is not permitted to leave the house. The other is Klaus, a goldfish who speaks German. He is the result of an experiment conducted by CIA, where they tried to transplant the brain of a German man into a goldfish. This peculiar family includes completely different individuals, who try to maintain a relationship of love and trust between themselves in the highly stressful times. The series centers on the difficulties faced by Smith not only in his family life but also while defending America from the evil designs of terrorists. The coarse comedy of the series is sure to leave the audiences roaring with laughter.
