A little about American Dad
Saturday, November 1st, 2008American Dad is an animated series which humors the excessively patriotic section of America. The show, produced by Underdog Productions and Fuzzy Door Productions, was first aired on Fox TV on 6th February 2005. It was created by Seth McFarlane in association with Mike Braker and Matt Weitzman. The three have worked together for the series Family Guy. Although the pilot episode was aired on 6th February 2005, the regular series began on 1st May 2005.
The story of American Dad revolves around Stan Smith who works for the CIA and is based in Langley Falls, VA. Smith knowledge is constantly vigilant to save his beloved country from terrorist attacks. He is proud of his family and can go to any lengths to protect them.. Smith’s wife, Francine who met him after college, loves to party and used drugs earlier in her life. She has very cautiously managed to hide this from her traditional husband, whom she loves dearly. The couple’s teenage daughter Hayley Smith who attends community college has go through an inspection at home everyday after she returns from college. Her brother Steve is at the threshold of puberty and is quite noisy and ill at ease with the fact. In addition, the Smith family has two very unusual members. The first is Roger an alien rescued by Smith, who lives in the attic and drinks wine and smokes cigarettes as he is not permitted to leave the house. The other is Klaus, a goldfish who speaks German. He is the result of an experiment conducted by CIA, where they tried to transplant the brain of a German man into a goldfish. This peculiar family includes completely different individuals, who try to maintain a relationship of love and trust between themselves in the highly stressful times. The series centers on the difficulties faced by Smith not only in his family life but also while defending America from the evil designs of terrorists. The coarse comedy of the series is sure to leave the audiences roaring with laughter.
